Ok, I have to be honest here. The Last Knight is like the 5th movie in a long line of Transformers movies. So I was actually expecting it to be a little lame and a drag on the storyline. You can imagine my pleasant surprise to have my expectations blasted to pieces.
The latest Transformers movie takes a very mythical turn this time by going back as far as the dark ages to Merlin, King Arthur and his Knights of the round table. The movie then ties the past into the present with a secret organisation watching for the signs that the end of the world is coming and charged with preventing it from happening.
What I liked About The Last Knight
I liked that the mythical storyline actually worked well and fit in the movie without too much disbelief. There was some great humorous moments that came across as natural rather than cheesy. Everyone’s favourite pathetic know-it-all charactor from all four previous movies is back as is everyone’s favourite Prime.
What I Didn’t Like About The Last Knight
I didn’t like that even though the ending was complete in itself, they added a little extra that makes me think they plan a 6th movie. There comes a point when a series of great movies just gets turned into a forced money maker. I’m thinking that one might be it.
Would I Recommend Seeing It?
Actually yes, I would. I think this would be a great movie for a night out for anyone (obviously for a mature audience, not children). There is enough action to keep the guys interested and enough steady storyline to occupy the gals. They even manage to keep most of the language clean so no-one will get overly offended about foul language.
