Disney’s Beauty And The Beast | Movie Review

My thoughts about the new Disney movie Beauty And The Beast. Is it worth seeing? Was it a good remake? Would your kids enjoy it? Tell me in the comments below!

Beauty And The Beast Storyline

"amummyslifenz" "beauty and the beast" "movie review"A girl educated ahead of her time finds herself the prisoner of a Beast as punishment for her father stealing a rose from the Beast’s garden. In their time together they learn to love each other and the Beast restores his humanity as the curse he is under breaks.

What I liked About Beauty And The Beast

I liked that they kept very close to the animated storyline that the children grow up with. It was very easy to follow along and to replace the animated “memories” with the “real visual” characters. There was obviously some updating in small scenes but nothing that would deter from that animated memory we grew up with. All in all, it was an easy transition between the two and quite a successful one at that.

What I didn’t Like About Beauty And The Beast

The only thing I didn’t really like about the remake was that it came across a little darker than the animated version does. It also had a few “adult” elements in it that the animated one never did such as the sexuality of Lefou. Although I can’t really say that those adult elements were exactly in your face with it. Just that it was noticeable. I guess that is a redemption factor.

Beauty And The Beast Is Suitable For?

I’d place the new Beauty and the Beast as suitable for pre-teen upwards. Both genders should enjoy it even though it’s is probably aimed more at the female gender. For younger viewers, keep to the animated version of the movie.
