11 Years Strong

Today marks the day that Eugene and I became a couple. We’ve been together for 11 years.

Every year that we have been together represents a building block in the foundation of our relationship. Each building block tells it’s own story. Some even hold more than one. Each story is woven with our moments of strength preventing the moments of weakness from crumbling the blocks of our foundation.

There is the story of our dating. The story of our moving in together. The story of getting pregnant with Celine and becoming a family. There is the story of our getting married.  The story of our moving across the country. The story of growing our family with Blake. The story of buying our first home. The stories of expanding our family yet again with Danielle and then finally with Isabella. The stories of first Celine and then Blake growing up and being old enough to go to school. Our stories contain heartbreak and joy, conflict and harmony, fear and happiness.

Today marks the beginning of all those stories. The start of our journey as first a couple and then as a family. So today is a special day that we mark on our calendar each year. Because each year adds yet another building block to the foundation of our lives. And our love is the cement holding them together.

You’ve had a special last 11 years. It’s good to look back now, because the years of raising children go so quickly. You are building the stories of your lives. May you have many years ahead of you.
