We went to Te Papa Museum on Friday afternoon shortly after our arrival into Wellington. First impressions? Te Papa appears MASSIVE! Although, I have a feeling that Auckland Museum is actually larger in size.
What’s To See?
There is quite a lot to see at Te Papa Museum. There is a big nature and human biology exhibit with lots of interactive learning stops for both adults and children. The top floor holds a Maori cultural and history exhibit and a replica of the Treaty of Waitangi agreement with all it’s signatures. Their biggest exhibit right now is the Gallipoli exhibit. Plus there are cafes and a storytelling room for the kids and a whole lot more to see.
What’s The Entry?
General entry is free to the public. However there is also a tour option which costs $16 per adult and $8 per child. Family pass for the tour is $40 for 2 adults and 2 children. Te Papa is open every day from 10 am to 6 pm with the sole exception of Christmas Day.
