My Housework Routine

Housework certainly isn’t fun but it is much easier when you can follow a daily, weekly, monthly and annual routine to get things done. Knowing when you should do something most certainly helps! So to help you form your own schedule, I’m going to share with you my own!

Daily

These are the things I try to do on a daily basis to keep on top of the basic chores.

  • Dishes
  • Wash, dry, fold & putaway washing
  • Wipe down kitchen benches and dining table
  • Sweep kitchen floor
  • Vacuum lounge and hallway

amummyslifenzWeekly

These are things I try to do on a weekly or sometimes twice weekly basis. Different tasks can be done on different days so that they don’t overwhelm you.

  • Clean microwave
  • Change bedding and wash dirty ones
  • Vacuum bedrooms
  • Clean bathrooms/toilets
  • Mop kitchen and bathroom floors
  • Wipe mirrors.

Monthly

These are things I try to do on a monthly basis. Do a different task each week.

  • Clean oven
  • Wipe down skirting boards and door frames
  • Wash windows
  • Wipe down photo frames
  • Clean refridgerator

Annually

These are things that I try to do on an annual or twice annual basis. Spring or summer is usually when I get these done.

  • Clean walls
  • Clean ceilings
  • Wash curtains
  • Have carpets cleaned
  • Wash inner bedding and vacuum beds
  • Wipe down shelving
  • Declutter unneeded items

Did I miss anything? Let me know if I did and when you do it!

Since I finally starting de-cluttering, I plan to keep it this way and a routine will make it even easier for me to keep things organized. Your lists are perfect for me! Thanks

Having a routine helps in so many ways in life. I like the clean out the refrigerator time. I just cleaned out mine. Back in the days when we had to defrost our refrigerators they were cleaned on a regular basis. Now, having a time frame for that duty helps. Routine helps me feel like I’m making progress and not just spinning my wheels. I don’t think you left anything off. Thanks for sharing.
