This is a follow on from my introduction post earlier this month. Having explained who I am and what my blog is about, I thought I’d now talk about how I became a blogger.
I started blogging in January 2011. Celine had just turned 3 years old and Hubby & I were in the process of trying for our second child and I had just had a miscarriage a few months earlier. I was unhappy with my size and felt that my being overweight might have contributed to my loss. I had started trying to lose weight in the hopes that it would help me get pregnant. I needed an outlet to express my frustrations and rejoice in my successes. A few friends in my weight loss support group had started blogging as a way to remain accountable. I decided to join them.
It took a while but I succeeded in losing a good deal of weight and eventually got pregnant. Rather than give up blogging now that I had reached my goal, I began blogging about my pregnancy, then about life after Blake was born, about my post-pregnancy weight loss, about getting pregnant again with Danielle and so on.
Eventually, I started adding recipes and reviews and opinion pieces etc. I joined a few blog challenges like the ones I am doing now. My blog went through a few different names before I eventually came to land on AMummysLifeNZ and I removed a lot of unnecessary random posts when I moved my blog over from the Blogger platform to the WordPress one. Not a light feat that one. I had over 900 posts to go through and decide what to keep and what to get rid of.
So here I am. A weight loss blogger who was trying to get pregnant with her second child and needing an outlet to a mum blogger who blogs about all things motherhood and more.
