We took our kids to see the new Disney Pixar movie Finding Dory today. Despite the huge hype surrounding Finding Dory I have mixed feelings regarding this movie.
Finding Dory explains a lot of Dory’s background and the random characteristics and choices she often made in the first movie Finding Nemo. The flow between past and present was nearly seamless.
The movie has some of the funny moments started by the original movie but the impact wasn’t quite as hearty as I remember. Some of it felt a little forced to me and my Husband felt it fell a little flat. I do not think our younger children noticed it as much as we adults did although I think our oldest child (8 years old) did. I do think the movie was a little long for our younger children (3 and 4 years old) at almost 2 hours.
In short, I am not sure that Finding Dory is the Must See movie that is worth spending the money to watch at the cinema although it would be worth waiting to see on DVD.
