Disney’s Pan

This weekend, Hubby and I took the kids to see the new Disney movie: Pan. We all know the story of Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up, and the lost boys of Neverland. Following on with Disney’s newest trend of giving a better background in the tales behind the legends like it did with Maleficent and Cinderella, Pan gives us a new insight into the characters of Peter Pan before he became the legend.

I quite enjoyed the movie though I don’t recommend going with a newborn baby like we did. Thankfully our theatre was quiet, only 3 other children there to watch the movie, so we didn’t disturb too many people too much during Bella’s unsettled moments. A reflection of the rural type area that we live in than of the movie itself, I promise.
For myself, I would give the movie about a 7 out of 10. It kept you entertained and had a few adult jokes in there though nothing that a young child would pick up on. Hubby said he would give it a 6 as there were a couple of slow moments in there. Dani found it a little too long and Blake wasn’t far behind her at close to 2 hours long. Whereas Celine was quite entertained the majority of the time. Age wise I’d say this movie is best suited to the 6 to 15 year age set more than the preschool/toddler age set like Blake and Dani.

Pan kept the magic known in disney movies alive and was probably even more enjoyable to me than Cinderella and Maleficent were. The ending was a fairly decent ending in itself although it possibly left an opening for a sequel.
