Shark Steam Lite Mop

My apologies to those who have been waiting for this post which I was meant to do on Wednesday. After my busy day with hospital appointments I just didn’t have the energy to do much housework then and so I decided to try out the steam mop on my usual mopping day which is Friday instead. So here it is.

Ready to roll

I found the mop reasonably easy to use. It is very light, even lighter than the vacuum cleaner, and the head swivels to get into the tighter spaces. The cleaning pad whips on and off so you can chuck them into the wash and you get two of them so you can still mop while one is still being washed.

Kitchen Floor Pre-Mop

As with any mopping, you have to either sweep or vacuum beforehand, which I did with the hard floor attachment on my vacuum.

Kitchen Floor Post-Mop

It works quite fast and doesn’t take at all long for the water to heat up enough to steam clean. I did have to go over a few spots an extra time to clean up certain marks but otherwise I am happy with the job that it does.

After mopping dirt

It took 2 tank fills to do all my hard floor areas which include the kitchen, both bathrooms, the toilet, and the lino area in our bedroom. Since I could use water straight from the tap, I didn’t have to wait around for a jug to boil or anything like that.
